DCUP Ensemble
DCUP was founded at the end of 2001 by Jack Reda and Todd Etter. Here's an amusing and superfluous timeline.
Jack Reda
Director of DCUP. Jack has been performing improv comedy since 1985. He studied theatre and improv at Virginia Commonwealth University and Old Dominion University. After a short stint in the U. S. Coast Guard, Jack became the Creative Director for ComedySportz DC. In 2001, he co-founded DCUP as a way to explore the freakier side of improv comedy. Jack won the PAX TV regional auditions for World Cup Comedy in 2004.
Todd Etter
Todd is the co-founder of DCUP. He has been performing and teaching improvisation since 1990. He is also a member of ComedySportz DC and Emitts Boys comedy groups. In 2003 Todd executive-produced "Yes And", a documentary about improvisation. He is an irregular contributor to The Motley Fool.
Claire Lambert
Claire started performing in 1992. Claire came up with the group's name as tribute to their first performance venue (a former Victoria's Secret). She was a member of Chapel Hill's ComedySportz troupe in 1996, and joined the DC team upon moving to the nation's capital. Claire just showed up to DCUP practices, and now she's in the group. She performed with the award-winning Duel Exhaust at the 2004 Toronto Improv Festival.
Steve Heaton
Steve is a co-founder of the comedy troupe Off The Cuff, and a regular performer with Last Ham Standing at the Tally Ho in Leesburg, VA. Steve has been performing with DCUP since 2003 and helped launch the Boneless Chicken Cabaret.
Matt Hartman
Matt Hartman teaches improvisation and chemistry to students at an uppity high school in Virginia. He also performs with ComedySportz DC and Poppycock. He also has his own website. We're not going to link to it here, and if you happen to come across it on your own you'll see why.
Spencer Humm
Spencer is part of the comedy swordfighting team of Hack and Slash. He has also portrayed his comical gravedigger character, Barry Croaker, at theatres all over the U.S. and Canada for over a decade. Spencer has been a member of Emitts Boys, Comedy Olympics and ComedySportz.
Corey Finkle
Corey has been a member of Comedy Gears, ComedySportz, and Poppycock for as long as we can remember. He's almost certainly got more, and more interesting bio information, which will soon appear in this space.
